Brazil's presence at the most important tile shows is increasing dramatically from the last ten years with a dazzling array of ceramic tile products, high style and fashion products developed exclusively for the U.S. market.

With a strong presence at ITSS 2003, in Las Vegas; Sufaces 2004, in Las Vegas, Coverings will see the major Brazilian companies showing their latest products, which range from the most sophisticaded designs to regular high-quality ceramic tile.

As a growing importance in the U.S. ceramic market, Brazil has emphasized its concern on quality.

Portobello Marmi Range Portobello's new models and formats for the Marmi Range are: Carrara Bianco (white), Marmo Portogallo (Salmon), Nero Marchina (Black) and Emperador Marrone (Chocolate), available in sizes 45-by-45-cm and 30-by-30-cm polished. Added to which there are new mosaics and strip tiles made from cut outs of new product – 9.5-by-9.5-cm mosaics and 9.5-by-9.5-cm strip tiles in the colors Marbella Salmon and Marbella Bianco.
The CCB- Brazilian Ceramic Center, created in 1993 to certify the quality of Brazilian ceramic products, today has 28 companies certified according to ISO 13006 standards, which means that more than 55 percent of the whole Brazilian production, which totalized 5.33 billion square feet by 2003, making Brazil the number four worldwide producer and exporter of ceramic tile in the world.

Provided in various colors and two formats: 13.3-by-13.3 inches and 16-by-16 inches, which allow a wide range of possibilities and can be used in commercial and residential usages according to its PEI. Incefra's tile line acid and cleaning resistance and is tested upon ISO-DIS international 13006 standards.
CCB's activities are focused on quality and product certification, technology improvement, human resources and design.

Since last year, CCB begun its qualification to certify Brazilian ceramic tile products according to ANSI-American National Standars Institute/USA. This will enable the Brazilian production to fullfill American expectations.

Revestir 2004 draws more exhibitors

Revestir - Brazilian Tile & Stone Exhibition - took place between March 9 and 13, 2004, at the Transamérica Expo Center, in São Paulo, Brazil. It occupied an area of 24,000 square meters and housed more than 150 Brazilian and foreign exhibitors that showcased trends in ceramic tiles, marbles, granite and other covering products like mortars and grouts, in addition to cutting-edge machines.
