Eliane is the recipient of three “green” awards for its 2006 environmental programs.


In recognition of its environmental protection programs in place at its Brazilian manufacturing plants, Eliane Ceramic Tiles has been bestowed with three environmental management awards for its efforts.

For outstanding initiatives in environmental protection, the Santa Catarina State Environment Protection Agency (FATMA), bestowed the Fritz Muller Award; the Ecology Award, presented by publishing company Editora Expressao, recognizes the recycling material program of private companies; and The Sustainable Development Award, for reusable and sustainable efforts, was granted by the Brazilian National Manufacturers’ Association.

According to Eliane, the company “has created goals and objectives that reduce and prevent hazards, recycle processed materials and reduce the extraction of raw materials from nature by identifying aspects that can damage the environment during he manufacturing of ceramic and porcelain tile.”

Along with environmental rehabilitation, Eliane has taken the initiative to develop and present several programs and classes that teach the community about preserving the environment, focusing on the awareness and education of all its employees and contractors, the company says.
