The MARMOMACC 2006 once again served as an opportunity for the Italian techno-stone association, ASSOMARMOMACCHINE, to share about projects and agendas underway, the recent stone manufacturers’ trade show held in Verona, Italy.

Promoted at the event was the association’s Designing with Natural Stone, a post-graduate course through its training branch. The week-long course consists of technical sessions and tours of top Italian stone companies, welcoming architects from countries to include Malawi, Russia, Canada, the United Kingdom and Kuwait.

The association also held a meeting at the event for members involved in a project for setting up an Italian industrial district in China. Discussed were the latest updates of the project’s feasibility study, approved and co-financed by the Italian International Commerce Ministry and ASSOMARMOMACCHINE.

Another highlight for the association was recognition for its significant growth in exports earlier this year.

“Fine performance,” declared Flavio Marabelli, president of ASSOMARMOMACCHINE, “which not only confirms a definite uptake in our exports but also lets us predict a good showing for the entire year.”
