The Kale Group’s founding ceo and chairman of the board, Dr. H. Ibrahim Bodur.
Founded in 1957 as the Çanakkale Seramik Fabrikalari A.S., the Kale Group has grown and developed within its 50-year history not only as Turkey’s premier ceramic tile producer, but also as “number four on a worldwide basis,” the company says.
In 1957, founding ceo and chairman of the board, Dr. H. Ibrahim Bodur, first laid the foundation of the Kale Group Companies in the Can district of Canakkale province.
In 1962, the Kale Group began exporting ceramic tiles, and currently exports its own products to 65 countries on five continents. Currently, the Kale Group comprises 24 separate companies, with more than 5,000 employees. In 1972, the group further strengthened its role when it founded Kalebodur Seramik Sanayi.
The company credits the pursuit of technological advances and production innovations. “Technical leadership was prized by the founder and the pace of investment has never diminished. Understanding local and international consumer and architectural tastes and designs has become a key part of our export success.”
The Kale Group says it also recognizes its responsibility to nature and the environment and is working to ensure that its contributions to this area attain world standards.
