A gala dinner celebration was held during Cersaie 2007 to celebrate the show’s 25th anniversary.

More than 91,000 people attended Cersaie 2007, the largest figure ever for a five-day show.

The 25th anniversary of Cersaie, the world’s largest international exhibition of ceramic tile and bathroom furnishings, surpassed previous records, a testament to its leading position in the global marketplace.  A total of 91,935 visitors converged on the Bologna exhibition centre, a 1.1% increase over 2006 and the highest number since the show became a five-day event. Of the 1,078 exhibitors, 223 were foreign companies from 32 different countries, while the number of foreign attendees amounted to 27,121, 3.7% more than the 26,411 of 2006. This brought the share of foreign visitors to 29.5%, the highest figure for a Bologna tradeshow and one of the highest at a national and international level. The number of journalists also exceeded the 2006 figure to reach a total of 632 accredited journalists. The increase reflected both Italian journalists (up 7.8%) and foreign journalists, who accounted for 43% of the total.

With a quarter of a century of expertise under their belt, show organizers Confindustria Ceramica, BolognaFiere and Edi.Cer. Spa in cooperation with Promos, sure know how to treat the industry to an invigorating and enriching trade fair experience.  The various institutional meetings were strongly attended and the Palazzo dei Congressi was completely packed for the Mario Botta’s seminar on ‘Architecture and Memory.’  “Creativitiles,’ the inspiring central main exhibition was a crowd favorite.  Its racetrack layout made it easy for guests to view the 16 famous works of art, which were beautifully re-created in Italian tile.  The well-done exhibit served as a tribute to the crossover of art and design.

The next edition of Cersaie promises to be equally successful.  It will be held in the Bologna exhibition centre from September 30 to October 4, 2008. The fair will be open daily to professionals and to the general public on October 3 and October 4, 2008.
