The National Tile Contractors Association (NTCA) will
present its annual Joe A. Tarver Cornerstone Award for Service to the Industry
to the Yarborough family of Sawgrass, Fla.-based D&B Tile Distributors. The
ceremony will take place during the 2008 Coverings in Orlando, Fla., May 1, at
5 p.m.
The company’s nine Florida locations
have all been recently remodeled to allow wholesale customers to use D&B
showrooms as their own: West Palm Beach, Hollywood, Pompano Beach, Delray
Beach, Sunrise, Perrine, Miami, Port St. Lucie and Orlando.
Additionally, D&B says it has a
dedicated architectural/design team and recently became the exclusive
distributor for Crossville in South Florida. It also carries premiere lines
from Atlas, Saicis, and Azuvi.
The company also gives back to the
community by quietly donating tile and other materials to Habitat for Humanity,
the Jack and Jill House for abused children and the Trojan House, built by high
school students. About eight years ago, it began a charity golf tournament to
benefit the James Jr. Fund and Joe DiMaggio Childrens Hospital. More than
$100,000 has been raised in this effort. The company also contributes to the
Chris Evert Hospital.
“We are proud of our role in
helping establish tile as the most durable, cost-effective and attractive floor
covering for the Florida lifestyle,” said Harold Yarborough. “We will
continually strive to maintain our market share and assist our customers with
new products and services in this exciting industry,” he said.
