Hakatai plays major role in remodel of Craftsman-style bungalow
Hakatai glass mosaic tile was recently specified by Hiromi Ogawa Architects for the modern remodel of a Craftsman-style bungalow in Berkeley, CA. The tile was used extensively throughout both bathrooms. The design of the baths exemplifies one of Hiromi Ogawa Architects’ signature remodels, featuring open skylights which bring refreshing sunlight into the rooms. The abundance of natural light washes over the glass mosaics and creates a peaceful feeling of serenity for the entire space.
Hiromi Ogawa Architects principal designer Lynn Fisher specified 200 square feet of Hakatai’s Classic series 3/4” x 3/4” glass mosaic tile in Pale Grey, creating beautiful bathroom settings in harmony with the modern touches added to the rest of the house.
The architecture firm says it recognizes there is no longer a lot of “buildable” land available in California, and often the best way to meet their customers’ needs is to update their existing homes. Hakatai glass mosaic tile has played a major role in several of their projects, the company noted.
