The National Tile Contractors Association (NTCA) will be holding live
demonstrations each day on four important categories for tile contractors
during Coverings 2009 at McCormick Place in Chicago, Illinois, to offer
attendees an up-close look at how a variety of challenging tile installations
are handled by top contracting professionals. Coverings will take place on
April 21-24, and the NTCA will focus on a new challenge each day.
Led by the
NTCA technical director Gerald Sloan, the NTCA workshop program is broken up
into four categories, one for each day, with live demonstrations on the
following topics:
Tuesday,
April 21: Movement Accommodation – Allowing for expansion and contraction
Wednesday,
April 22: Managing Water Intrusion – Installing tile in wet areas
Thursday,
April 23: Proper Selection of Materials
Friday,
April 24: The five most common mistakes made before the first tile is
installed.
“We are
proud to participate in such a worthy endeavor,” said Bart
Bettiga, executive director of NTCA. “We now have a
wonderful blend of non-proprietary demonstrations and exposure to new products
and installation systems taking place almost every hour throughout the duration
of the show. These kinds of activities give industry professionals one
more reason to attend the show.”
NTCA is a non-profit trade
association serving every segment of the industry, spearheading education for
