In a major change in the way it does business, Portobello America said it will now operate with representation being handled by its own employees. The sales focus of the U.S. arm, based out of Pompano Beach, Fla., will be primarily distribution.
“By making this change, infrastructure has been reduced and inventory has been centralized," said Decio Magnani, president/CEO of Portobello America. “Most of the shipments are now factory-direct, but there is always a local inventory for back-up purposes.”
Portobello America has provided its tile materials to a number of signature commercial projects within North America including Disney Contemporary Suites and Disney Animal Kingdom Lodge, Orlando; Fontainebleau Hotel and Casino, Las Vegas; Four Seasons Grand Exuma Island, Caribbean; and Sheraton Hotel, Convention Center and Merchandise Mart, Miami.
