Karim Rashid address Cersaie attendees during the afternoon session, Gallery of Architecture.

During the exclusive “Gallery of Architecture” reception held on the second day of Cersaie, multi-disciplined designer Karim Rashid shared his goal of “changing the world through the use of objects” with the crowd gathered for the afternoon event.

Born in Cairo, Rashid is considered “a global creative” with nearly 2,000 objects exhibited in museums and galleries around the world, in addition to his various collaborations with companies such as TAU Ceramica, Prada, Miyake, Method, Gorm, Kenzo, Magis, and Giorgio Armani.

On the use of tile in the bathrooms, Rashid said, "The modern bathroom will increasingly be an area with its soft, comfortable, warm areas. Basically this is the room where we have the more privacy. So I think the colors, soft shapes can support this new concept that brings the popular design and fashion of the 60s and 70s. In this I think the ceramic, which is an extraordinary material, can play a key role, thanks to innovation that now makes possible achievements were unthinkable years ago."
