The 8th Annual Minnesota Tile Festival, a one-day event set for September 19, serves as a yearly gathering for “for those who love tiles, make tiles and collect tiles,” says the Handmade Tile Association, organizer of the event.

The festival, held at the American Swedish Institute, runs concurrently with the National Tile Conference "Tile and Mosaics, Past, Present, Future." The event’s partnering groups include the Potters Council, Tile Heritage Foundation, Edina Art Center, Mosaic on a Stick, American Swedish Institute, Handmade Tile Association and Christien Nelson Design.

Additionally, Karin Kraemer of Duluth Pottery designed the 5th commemorative tile for 2009.
