Educational ProgramsTCAA will present six hours of registered educational programming during convention. Programs include Life Cycle Cost Analysis and Green Tile, Marble & Terrazzo presented by the International Masonry Institute (IMI) and Learning Exchange, a two-hour, problem-based presentation by a panel of industry experts that explores a hypothetical case study project from design to substantial completion. Chicago-area architects and designers will join contractors and industry suppliers for this session.
RecognitionsDonald W. Schwartzwill receive theCarl V. Cesery Awardat a luncheon on September 27. This award recognizes individuals who have served the American tile trade with great distinction. Schwartz has been in the tile installation business since the age of 17 and learned the various aspects of the business from the ground up. In 1986 he became the sole owner of Selectile of California and remained there until his retirement in 2001. Under his leadership, Selectile won numerous awards from both the Ceramic Tile Institute and the Tile Contractors Association of America for its workmanship and beauty of tile installations throughout Southern California in both residential and commercial installations.
