

Considering the shrinking markets in the construction and materials industries and international achievements in the economy, Unicera delivered on its promise to create new markets for all industry representatives.
The number and purchasing powers of foreign decision-makers hosted by TÜYAP during the fair were of particular appreciation to participants. This year, Unicera was visited by 53,394 people from 70 countries, with 2,883 foreign visitors confirming the international nature of the event.
As one of the building blocks of the construction industry, Unicera brought its participants together with domestic construction and project companies, architects, decorators and DIY outlets, as well as buyers from Europe, the Balkans, Russia, the Caucasus, Western and Central Asia, the Middle East and Africa, creating great potential.
Events at the Fair
Organized by Hacettepe University Ceramics and Glass Department faculty member Mutlu Baskaya, the modern ceramic art exhibition “ceramISTanbul” included 44 works that remained on display at the first floor foyer of the TÜYAP Fair and Convention Center throughout the event, commanding great interest.
The “Sustainable Materials” seminar was held during the Architects’ Day event, where Micol Costi, library and material research department director of the Italian research team of Material ConneXion, was the guest speaker. Further, the “Sustainable Design” seminar was led by keynote speaker Professor Han Brezet, Sustainable Design Department Head at the Delft University Industrial Design Engineering Facility.
In addition, Feyza Erdogan, assistant specialist to the Brand Creation and R&D Support Office of the Undersecretariat of Foreign Trade’s General Directorate of Exports, gave information on the Turquality Program and its contents. A “masters event” was held at the end of the day.
The third day of the fair saw the presentation of several ceramics honor and awards, including:

- SERHAM (Ceramic, Glass and Cement Raw Materials Manufacturers Association) Award to Ismet Kasapoglu
- The SERSA (Ceramic Sanitaryware Manufacturers Association) Award to Atila Ildas
- SERKAP (Ceramic Covering Manufacturers Association) Award to Erhan Kusüzümü
- The Turkish Ceramics Federation Award was presented to Tolun Vural
