The California Art Education Association (CAEA) is auctioning a tile mural designed by deceased ceramist Joe Koons, entitled "Doves of Peace," to fund a scholarship for high school ceramics teachers.

The California Art Education Association (CAEA) is offering this tile mural designed by (deceased ceramist) Joe Koons entitled “Doves of Peace.” The mural is approximately 40” tall and 52”inches wide. It was glazed at the CAEA State Conference in San Jose, CA, November 2010, by conference attendees and friends. Joe’s wife, Julie, and daughter, Jennifer oversaw the glazing process during the conference. Laguna Clay sponsored Julie and Jennifer’s travel and lodging for the CAEA Conference glazing event and fired the tiles.

Proceeds from the auction will be used to provide a scholarship for high school ceramics teachers to attend the 2011 CAEA State Conference in Bakersfield, CA, November 3-6, in the name of Joe Koons, long-time friend of art educators nationwide.
