Adjustable “strainer barrel” installed in drains’ “clamping ring”

KBRS and Algiere Construction Services have solved a not-so-uncommon renovation issue on the Hilton’s New York JFK Airport facility. With the post tension slabs of the high rise construction moving the drain via conventional means is not an option, when Algiere Construction Services asked for a solution, KBRS had an answer with their ShowerSlope, HardCurb, and Raise-A-Base.

Project manager, Tom Daumeyer of Algiere, says he “needed a system that could insure a perfect custom application and have complete confidence that the showers were going to be 100% waterproof.” KBRS was able to provide the Raise-A-Base, which allowed for the drain to be moved exactly where the Hilton wanted it, and the KBRS ShowerSlope and HardCurb provided the extra strength that was needed for a partial wall and heavy glass door pivot point.

Working with Merkrete products, Tom was able to get a 100% waterproof warranty on the entire shower system. “This partnership between KBRS and Algiere Construction Services shows the versatility that keeps KBRS ahead of the curve in the shower industry,” the company notes.
