Tile industry entrepreneurs Jason and Megan Coleman recently opened Clayhaus Ceramics, a handcrafted artisan tile company with a wide range of unique modern designs and vibrant colors. The company was founded in 2010 and officially launched in April when the switch was flipped on at www.clayhausceramics.com.
Clayhaus products are 100% hand made in the company's Portland, Ore.-based studio using reclaimed clay content and lead-free glazes. Most glazes also contain 50% recycled bottle glass, in keeping with the Colemans' environmental ethic. Glazes are hand-mixed from proprietary recipes. Product offerings include a complete array of sheeted and loose field tile, as well as a growing collection of unique decorative relief tiles. The ever-expanding color palette includes more than 50 shades in Clayhaus Gloss, Clayhaus Crackle and Clayhaus Matte. In addition to its established product line, the company also encourages requests for custom shapes and colors, including color matching to paint chips, wall coverings, fabric swatches and other existing tile.
