Florida Tile has developed and released ecoScorecard™, an online database profiling the environmental impact of all of the company’s products. Geared to specifiers, architects, designers and builders who choose products according to environmental rating systems, ecoScorecard incorporates all data standards required by every major residential and commercial material rating system and delivers them as a high-quality PDF document.

“If you look at our history of achievements in product development and environmental stewardship especially over the past three years, it is obvious that our goal has been not only the aesthetics, quality and durability of our products, but also their environmental-impact,” said Sean Cilona, Florida Tile’s Marketing Director.

“ecoScorecard is another part of that commitment,” he added. “This initiative is a free, easy-to-navigate, comprehensive online database of Florida Tile product information aimed at project specifiers, architects and designers who need to be able to meet two job objectives. First, they need to quickly and easily assess and measure the environmental attributes of our tile products. Second, they then must be able to easily document and compare that data with the nearly three dozen environmental rating systems in use today, such as LEED, NAHB Greenbuilding Standard and the Collaborative for High Performance Schools, to name but a few.”

Further, according to Cilona, “We’ve also set this up so customers can create their own accounts on-line to save project and product data for quick reference. All one has to do to start a search or set up a private account is to visit floridatile.escorecard.com or simply log onto www.floridatile.com and navigate to the LEED/NAHB webpage.”

“Because of our manufacturing processes, all Florida Tile products are inherently greener and sustainable as a building material than most other manufacturers in the floor, wall and interior surfaces industry. EcoScorecard contributes to supporting that message in the marketplace,” Cilona concluded.
