As I continually mentioned throughout this past year, our primary intention is to make TILE your leading source of industry information — from daily news reports to technical tips to the latest developments in installation standards. We have been very fortunate to develop a strong relationship with the Tile Council of North America, Ceramic Tile Education Foundation and some of the leading manufacturers of tile, installation and maintenance products who are willing to contribute technical articles on various topics that are relevant to our industry. We also have made a point to share a couple of tile installation case studies in each issue. In addition to sharing insight from the architect or designer on the design goal for the project and what thoughts were considered during the material selection process, we also include all the installation details, which we hope offer an educational value.
And, of course, I can’t forget the products. One thing that I have learned since I started working on TILE is that our readers enjoy learning about the newest tile product introductions, and we go to great lengths to share them with you. While we include a Product Showcase in every print edition, we also regularly post new tile collections on our recently redesigned Web site, www.tile-magazine.com, and through our social media platforms. If you are a regular subscriber, you will have also noticed that we started to include a “Trend Report” in each issue. This is another way for us to share with our readers the most current design developments and the “hot” tile looks that we are observing.
Our print edition hasn’t been our only priority this year. As I mentioned, we recently launched TILE’s new Web site — featuring daily news updates of industry happenings as well as Web Exclusives and access to all articles that have been featured in our print editions. We hope that our site will also serve as a tool for you when researching various subjects relating to the tile industry.
As editor, it is important that I connect with our readers and industry professionals to make sure that I am reporting on the most current trends, issues, etc. that are affecting the tile industry. For this reason, I always extend the invitation for you to contact me and share a recent product, tile installation or news story — or, any suggestions you may have about the content of the magazine. And I am happy to say, that some of you have taken me up on my offer. As we move forward into 2013, myself and our staff will continue to look for ways to improve upon the format we have put in place in order to make TILE a quality publication and a leading source of information for the industry.
