RANDOLPH, NJ — Progress Profiles recently released a new brochure featuring Prodeso, an uncoupling and waterproofing membrane with a thickness of 1/8 inches.

Prodeso is a low-density polyethylene membrane with truncated cone cavities. The underside is provided with a non-woven thermo-welded polypropylene sheet that guarantees a reliable bond to the subfloor. The top of the membrane is provided with the same non-woven thermo-welded polypropylene sheet that guarantees a reliable bond between the tile surface and the membrane.

The Prodeso Membrane System includes properties such as uncoupling, waterproofing, vapor management and load distribution. It is ideal for difficult substrate installations such as not perfectly cured screeds or Plywood/OSB. Its minimal thickness makes it perfect to use when height difference between an existing surface and a new tile surface is a concern. Prodeso Membrane System allows isolation of the tile surface from horizontal movement occurring in the subfloor — eliminating undesirable floor tile cracking and delamination. Ceramic and natural stone tile are installed using modified thin set for better bond and performance, reports Progress Profiles.
