ASOLO, ITALY -- Humidity, water infiltrations and inadequate drainage could cause serious damages to external surfaces, which are constantly exposed to rainfalls and weather. For this reason, it is highly recommended to carry out perfect laying work to ensure the structure’s suitability.

Thankful to great researches on the best materials and to the knowledge of professionals, Progress Profiles, a leading Italian manufacturer of technical and decorative finishing profiles and fixing/laying systems including membranes for construction and interior design, refined the new Prodeso Drain: a multi-functional membrane that allows waterproofing, draining and long-lasting floors, saving money and work charges.

The new Prodeso Drain, which will be presented at Cersaie 2019, is composed by a cyan-colored, high-density polyethylene (HDPE) sheet provided with 4.5-mm-high truncated cone reliefs and a circular base; it is covered on the top with a thermowelded non-woven waterproofing polypropylene fabric, in gray, and on the lower side with a polypropylene spunbond to guarantee the adhesion to the support and bonding to the floor, avoiding any issue caused by freeze-thaw cycles.

Realized to drain water away, the membrane also prevents the growth of salt efflorescence and adhesives triacetate. After being applied, Prodeso Drain favors the glue drying when laying large-format tiles. Uncoupling and highly flexible, the membrane reduces the risk of vapor stress.

A single multi-functional membrane: using Prodeso Drain, installation times are considerably reduced working without any interruption from the laying of the membrane up to the end. Moreover, it could be directly applied atop old tiles.
