Motawi Tileworks Releases Bear in the Birches and Field Games Tile Designs
ANN ARBOR, MI -- Motawi Tileworks (The Tileworks), located in Ann Arbor, MI, recently released two new art tile designs: 8- x 8-inch Bear in the Birches and 6- x 6-inch Field Games. Bear in the Birches, based on the original work by wildlife artist Charley Harper, is The Tileworks’ latest in a long-running collaboration with the Charley Harper Art Studio. Field Games was inspired by the glass doors of Glasgow, Scotland’s Willow Tea Rooms, designed by Charles Rennie Mackintosh in 1903. Bear in the Birches ($148) comes in one standard colorway and Field Games ($77) is available in three colors: Cadet, Green and Yellow.
“Bear in the Birches and Field Games both draw from highly engaging source material, which made the tile design process a joyful one,” said Motawi Tileworks’ owner and artistic director, Nawal Motawi. “I love the layers of dimension that keep Harper’s bear slightly hidden from view, and playing with the lines in Mackintosh’s design to create Field Games was great fun as well. We are pleased to introduce these intriguing works in ceramic form.”
The new art tiles are available for purchase in the Motawi Tileworks gallery online at www.motawi.com and in wholesale locations.
