FIORANO MODENESE, MODENA, ITALY -- Cinema, Design, Caesar: three identities in synergy for a project, which makes a strong statement about communications and design.

Ceramiche Caesar is participating in the organization of the fifth edition of Ennesimo Film Festival, which is scheduled to be held from April 30 to May 3 at the Teatro Astoria in Fiorano Modenese, and is promoting the creation of a new official competition for shorts about design and architecture: the Caesar Design Film Award.

The new competition calls for submissions on the subject of “Design for Change.” The films must narrate the transformational power of a design project for man, society and the environment, expressing the force of the transformation and showcasing the creativity from which the project itself was born. This opens the competition up to a variety of themes: city planning, sustainability, materials recycling and the whole range of issues related to the landscape, living and inhabiting, and even the use of color.

The competition is open for submissions -- which must be no more than 20 minutes long -- until March 31, after which six finalists will be selected for the new competition section at Ennesimo Film Festival. The Caesar Design Film Award will highlight works which build a bridge between the world of design and that of cinema, which today is not just a form of artistic expression but also a powerful tool for communicating and promoting the work of designers, also due to the vast opportunities for publishing videos on social media.

Along with the official winner of the Caesar Design Film Award, there will be a special mention for Wannabe Designers, awarded by an Italian committee of university students at Architecture, Design, Graphics and Art schools and faculties.

With this initiative, Ceramiche Caesar reaffirms its affinity for the worlds of architecture and design and its commitment to innovation, expressed in its unceasing research into ceramic solutions, as well as in the use of cutting edge communications. Cinema is here a valuable tool for expressing Caesar's values in an original way, including its Made in Italy branding, and its social and environmental ethics, which can be summed up as a green oriented approach which respects both man and the ecosystem: aspects which are nourished by both the company's Emilian roots and its global reach.

Ennesimo Film Festival also has a global vocation; in the just four years in which it has been held, it has received over 10,000 shorts from 128 countries. Around 35% of the works projected in the various competition sections were international or Italian premières, a confirmation of the care taken by the organizers in selecting submissions and the desire of directors and producers worldwide to present their work for the first time at Ennesimo.

This is why Caesar considers its collaboration with Ennesimo Film Festival an outstanding opportunity for creating value. Starting with the promotion of a cultural initiative, born in the Italian ceramic district but by now with a global profile, the aim is to affirm the value of Italian design, a synonym of the synergy between beauty, function and quality for the spaces we live in.
