SASSUOLO, ITALY -- ADI, the association that brings together Italian design professionals and businesses, has as its fundamental objectives the cultural and economic affirmation of industrial design for responsible and sustainable development of everyone’s living conditions. For this reason, it protects and encourages the quality of its products, through the biennial Compasso d’Oro award, the annual pre-selections of the ADI Design Index and its participation in the most important professional events in Italy and around the world.

The collaboration with Cersaie 2021, which will be held in Bologna from September 27 to October 1, also responds to these objectives, in which two commissions of experts, set up by ADI Emilia Romagna, will award two prizes for design to the products and companies present at Cersaie.

The first will go to the most innovative Italian products in the ceramic and bathroom furnishing sectors. This is the 7th edition of the ADI Ceramics and Bathroom Design Award. Silvia Stanzani (designer), Oscar G. Colli (co-founder of the magazine, Il Bagno oggi e domani), Luigi Romanelli (architectural designer) and Valentina Downey (president of ADI Emilia Romagna) will select from among the products exhibited in the ceramic tile and bathroom furnishing sectors those that best combine innovation and design excellence.

The other award -- the 2nd edition of the ADI Booth Design Award -- was created to enhance exhibition stands that promote the product and brand value of companies within the exhibition. The commission of exhibition design and communication experts is made up of Cecilia Bione (Academy of Fine Arts of Bologna), Pierluigi Molteni (architect and lecturer in Advanced Design) and Wladimiro Bendandi (ADI Emilia Romagna territorial delegation), who will select from the stands at Cersaie 2021 those that best communicate brand identity, brand value and product value.

The products and installations selected by the two commissions will be part of a pre-selection for the 2022 edition of the ADI Design Index, the ADI yearbook that brings together the best Italian design in every product category, selected by the ADI Permanent Design Observatory in view of the next edition of the Compasso d’Oro ADI, the most famous award for Italian design.

The awards will be presented at Cersaie on September 29 at 2: 30 p.m. at Cersaie’s Contract Hall, Pavilion 18.
