Scott Carothers is the Director of Certification and Training for the Ceramic Tile Education Foundation headquartered in Pendleton, SC, and is responsible for the creation of the Certified Tile Installer (CTI) program, is involved in the creation of the new Advanced Certifications for Tile Installers (ACT) program as well as providing training to others in the tile industry. He has been involved in the ceramic tile industry for over 33 years and was the owner of a successful retail firm prior to coming to CTEF. He has served as President of the NTCA, Chairman of the NTCA Technical Committee and named the NTCA Tile Person of the Year in 2005. Heather Fiore is the Editor-in-Chief of TILE Magazine. She has also served as the Associate Editor of Contemporary Stone & Tile Design and Stone World for the last five years. Before she began working at BNP Media in these capacities, Heather Fiore was an associate editor for The Sun newspapers in Central New Jersey.
Bill Griese, Standards Development and Green Initiative Manager for the Tile Council of North America (TCNA), is involved in the development and revision of ASTM, ANSI, ISO and other industry-specific standards, and the direction of TCNA’s sustainability efforts. Additionally, he works closely with TCNA’s Product Performance Testing Laboratory. Griese serves as Chairman for the ASTM C21 Committee on Ceramic Whitewares and Related Products and as an appointed member of ASTM’s Committee on Technical Committee Operations (COTCO). He is an active participant in the World Ceramic Tiles Forum and serves as a U.S. delegate in several global standardization initiatives. Each year, Griese speaks at industry events in the U.S. and abroad, and he is a regular author and columnist in several industry publications. Griese is a LEED Accredited Professional (LEED AP) with a specialty in Building Design and Construction (BD+C). He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Ceramic and Materials Engineering from Clemson University in Clemson, SC.
Jennifer Richinelli is editor-in-chief of TILE Magazine, editor of Contemporary Stone and Tile Design, and managing editor of Stone World. Jennifer Adams has been covering the stone industry since 1996 as Managing Editor of Stone World and Editor of our sister publication Contemporary Stone & Tile Design. Much of her work focuses on design, and it has also appeared in a range of consumer and shelter publications.
Stephanie Samulski is a project manager for the Tile Council of North America (TCNA) and the Ceramic Tile Education Foundation (CTEF). Her tile career began in 1999 as a tile layer apprentice with BAC Local 32 in Detroit, where she worked mainly on commercial installations for Shores Tile Co. Now with TCNA and CTEF, Stephanie works on industry standards as well as knowledge and installation curricula for training and certification programs.
