Following the exhibition Ceramic Tiles of Italy_Architectural Food in 2008 and the “Guscio” project by Mario Botta and the exhibit “sit_down_please” by various designers in 2007, Italian ceramic tiles will be returning to the Milan Triennale this year for the 2009 edition of “I Saloni.”

From April 22 27, Italian tiles will be showcased at an exhibition entitled “Ceramic Tiles of Italy. A Natural Beauty,” promoted by Confindustria Ceramica and organized by Edi.Cer.spa.

According to Confindustria Ceramica, “The purpose of the event is to highlight the importance that the Italian tile industry has always attached to the environmental and social aspects of sustainability, using Italian design to transform products into creative, original and eco-friendly projects.”

The exhibition space, inspired by an Italian garden theme,  will be represented by various products and items made of ceramic such as gazebos, walkways, lamps, and a maze with a partially grass-covered floor to complement the material qualities of ceramic tiles. The animal world will also be represented by animal figures and the plant world by flowerbeds and planters. Each day the garden will host activities ranging from convivial gatherings to mid-morning and afternoon snacks, from children’s games to a space for pet animals.
