The new ANSI standards published by TCNA.

The Tile Council of North America (TCNA) said it has published seven new ANSI standards. Designed to be used in conjunction with the latest edition of the TCA Handbook for Ceramic Tile Installation, these standards include new general requirements and installation methods for tile and stone.

Additionally, the organization has revised the definition of deflection to clarify load criteria requirements.

Eric Astrachan, ANSI co-secretariat and executive director of the Tile Council said the TCNA plans to review ANSI standards "on a more frequent basis."

"Standards have previously been reviewed every five years, as we are looking at cutting that period in half - say, every 24 months," he said.
