Vitra has enlisted Turkish designer Defne Koz to create new designs in the Calm and Sense tile ranges. Known for projects that combine contemporary flair with a traditional feel, the Milan-based designer "will achieve a mixture of old-world flare and modern appeal" in the tile designs, Vitra said.

Born in Ankara, Koz said she is inspired by ancient Turkish designs as well as contemporary looks. "It's important to know the culture of design." she noted.
