Exchange has chosen Tau Ceramica’s Corten series to makeover five of its retail
locations.
Tile of Spain branded manufacturer TAU Ceramica has been chosen by Armani Exchange (AX), Giorgio Armani’s well-known retail store, to provide tile for the makeover of five of its locations (three in the United States, one in London, and one in Tokyo). TAU will supply more than 6,500 square feet of its Corten Series for three retail projects in the U.S. alone (Los Angeles, Chicago, and its flagship store in New York City).
TAU’s Corten series, a 24” x 50” (60-by-120 cm) tile, is part of thes Metallica Collection. In the past three years, the series has consolidated its position in the ceramic and interior design market since its launch in 2004 where more than 6.5 million square feet has been sold worldwide. TAU and Tile of Spain are proud of the success and attribute its popularity to its aesthetic appeal, as well as its functionality and integrity.
The series recreates Corten steel, a material made up of 60% steel and 40% iron, which changes color over time due to oxidization.
The Spanish Ceramic Tile Manufacturer’s Association (ASCER) is the private organization whose objective is to support Spain’s ceramic tile manufacturers and the industry as a whole by stewarding and promoting the Tile of Spain brand worldwide.
