Somany Keraben is the name of the new Indian ceramic company formed as a joint partnership between Keraben, a Spanish ceramic tile manufacturer, and Somany, an Indian producer founded in 1968 with a current output of around 13 million square meters per year.

The new company, to which each partner has contributed 50 million rupees ($1.25 million), began its activities with a share capital of around 2 million euro ($3.16 million). Somany Keraben says its aim is to offer high technical and aesthetic quality products to the vast Indian market.

The company will invest 3% of annual turnover in R&D, an area where Keraben says it will make a significant contribution.
