TILE Magazine’s coverage of industry shows and events has also been expanded. We'll be providing coverage (both in print and online), so you’re always on top of the current trends and designs. We’ll also be addressing more topics that focus on environmentally friendly products, kitchen and bath designs, handmade and artistic tiles, and the various developments in the installation and application of tiles.

Happy New Year and welcome to the first issue of TILE Magazine for 2008, and my first issue as Editor. Rest assured that John Moore, my esteemed colleague and past TILE Editor, has taken on the distinguished role of Senior Editor. For all that he has taught me, I thank him.

Together, we planned so much for this year that we had to increase TILE Magazine’s publication frequency from eight issues a year to nine issues! Of course, none of this would have been possible without the valuable and constructive input of our readers - and we thank you!

Speaking of new products, designs and trends, TILE Magazine and its sister publications National Floor Trends and Floor Covering Installer are sponsoring three pavilions during Surfaces 2008 in Las Vegas (January 30-Feb. 1) at the Sands Expo Center, lower level, Hall G. The specifically designed pavilions are dedicated to showcasing the latest in new product introductions. TILE Magazine’s pavilion will focus on Hand-Crafted Tile, while Floor Covering Installer’s pavilion highlights Decorative Concrete, and National Floor Trends’ puts the spotlight on New Products.

Cevisama, which comes on the heels of Surfaces, and its organizers are busy finalizing plans for yet another unforgettable event in Valencia, Spain, February 5-9. Promising to blend artistic, technological advancements, this year’s theme “Artechnology” (the symbiosis of art, design, architecture and technology), aims to draw both Italian and North American designers. (See the Product Showcase section starting on page 8 for a preview of what to expect at Surfaces and Cevisama).
