LEXINGTON, KY-- Popular as far back as the Aztec era, Mexican travertine stone tile has now gotten a new look for the 21st century thanks to recent size and color updates in the Florida Tile PietraArt collection.

"We have delivered a new look in style and sophistication for this venerable décor," Sean Cilona, Florida Tile Marketing Director. "First, we expanded our offerings to include 3-x 6-, 4-x 4- and 6-x 6-inch sizes in tumbled, domed and vein-cut polished finishes. We included floor sizes of 12 x 12 and 18 x 18 inches in the filled and honed finish, plus two plank widths of 4 and 6 inches wide. The result is a classic look that can coordinate with any of today's interior styles."

Cilona continued to explain that in terms of color, Florida Tile has replaced "Amber" with modernistic trends in Noce [pictured] and Desert Cream Imperial in all the new, as well as existing sizes, shapes and finishes. "These two stone colors add design interest by varying in shade with the natural veining and movement of this classic stone product," he said.

"Additionally, we also made significant updates to listellos, chair rails and pencils plus a variety of striking decorative mosaics, such as two sets of mixed decorated tiles in 2 x 2 and 4 x 4 inches," he said. "Designed to coordinate across the color range, these porcelain decorative pieces resemble old-style, hand-painted tiles lending a rustic handmade feel to the line."
