DALLAS, TX -- Robert Hendon is the newly appointed Vice President of Sales for American Tile & Stone.  Hendon is an experienced leader in the flooring industry, with over 25 years in the capacity of Vice President of Sales for the Jim Wylie & Co., Regional Vice President for Mohawk Industries and most recently, Vice President of Sales with Royalty Camelot Carpet Mills.  Hendon spent 11 of those years with Mohawk Industries, where he was one of the two Vice Presidents that developed Mohawk's tile, wood and vinyl distribution business. 2

Robert Hendon is the newly appointed Vice President of Sales for American Tile & Stone.  

"Throughout his career, Hendon has driven significant sales growth while developing many lifetime customers and cultivating strong relationships along the way," said Stan McCarthy, Senior Vice President of Sales for Acme Brick Company. "Bringing a leader on board with Hendon's depth of experience in the flooring industry is a great way to celebrate American Tile and Stone's 50th year in 2014."

 Hendon is a Lubbock, TX, native and is a graduate of Texas Tech University. He is involved in many professional organizations, including the Contract Flooring Group, the Carpet & Rug Institute, the North American Association of Floor Covering and the Texas & New Mexico Cattlemen's Associations.  Hendon also believes in Active Community Stewardship and is involved in Meals on Wheels and the Make a Wish Foundation.  He replaces outgoing Vice President of Sales Larry Atkins who is retiring. 

American Tile & Stone has been an operating subsidiary of Acme Brick Company since 1994. The company has locations in Austin, San Antonio, Houston, Fort Worth and a 125,000-square-foot distribution center in Dallas.
