Techniques used to make this mosaic date back to ancient Rome and Greece, allowing the artists to create complex shapes with highest quality precision. In total, months of planning, hundreds of hours of work and thousands of small mosaic glass pieces, specifically dedicated to this project, were proudly donated to the school by Albert and Karise Claramonte, owners of Surfaces, Inc.
"Donating this beautiful glass mosaic to Miami Country Day offers our company the opportunity to help visually enhance a school which has a clear-cut mission to give children from the Miami area the highest quality education," said Albert Claramonte. "Karise and I were honored to contribute this piece of art as a centerpiece for such an important building. We hope it will inspire children to focus some of their upcoming energies on artistic pursuits."
