Cevisama, the annual international tile exhibition, will be returning to the Feria Valencia convention center in Valencia, Spain, this year from February 9 to 13, 2015. For this year’s edition, the show will focus on the theme: “Welcome to the World of Ideas.”

Cevisama has over 30 years of experience as an exhibition in the ceramic sector. It is a showcase of reference in floor and wall tiles, bathroom equipment, natural stone, frits, enamels and ceramic colors, tiles and bricks, materials and tooling, and machinery.

Last year, the show attracted more than 75,000 attendees from 149 different countries around the world, and almost 700 exhibitors. Approximately 20% of the visitors were international — an increase of about 12% from the previous year, which was one of show management’s goals. Another objective was to increase the Italian presence at the show, since Cevisama is prevalently Spanish, which was accomplished with the participation of 78 Italian companies — the most the show has ever hosted to date. With all of its exhibitors, Cevisama attracts more international visitors than any other trade fair in Spain, and show management is hoping to continue this trend with each passing year.

Last year was also the first time that Cevisama was held in conjunction with two other events — Feria Habitat Valencia (furniture, lighting, kitchen and home textile show) and FIMMA-Maderalia (materials and solutions for industry and decoration show) — to create a collaborative event known as “See You in Valencia.” This event, referred to as “the great international event of interior design, architecture and decoration,” incorporates a range of exhibitions, conferences, presentations, architectural tours of the city and special events. Because of the addition of Feria Habitat Valencia and FIMMA-Maderalia in 2014, Cevisama received an additional 17,000 visitors, or about 19% more than it would have had it not been held in conjunction with them, according to show figures from 2014.

For “See You in Valencia 2015,” Cevisama will be hosting an International Contract Forum, where 50 international specifiers from more than 10 different countries will meet with exhibitors from all three fairs in search of suppliers for their projects. This forum, organized by IVACE Internacional in collaboration with Anieme, Fedai, and ASCER, will allow recognized architects, interior designers and international hotel chain prescribers to take part in “B2B” meetings with exhibiting companies. At these meetings, the exhibitors can get to know and exchange information with these international specifiers, which have been selected for the high level of the contract projects on which they are working, and also for their limited knowledge of the Spanish offerings available.

Other activities include those which are part of the Cevisama Lab initiative, such as the International Ceramics Design Competition; the Alfa de Oro Prizes, from the Spanish Society of Ceramics and Glass, which distinguish those Spanish exhibitors with products, processes, machinery and equipment for their technological and/or artistic innovation, functionality and usability; the Trans/hitos trade fair, which shows architecture and interior design related to the pottery world; and the Architecture and Design Forum, a series of lectures and debates on architecture and interior design, involving global benchmarks in these areas.
