MIAMI, FL -- Tile of Spain, the international brand representing 125 ceramic tile manufacturers belonging to the Spanish Ceramic Tile Manufacturer's Association (ASCER), has won an Excellence in Advertising Award from Architectural Record for their Continuing Education Course (CEU) entitledAn Ecological Basis for Selecting Ceramic Tile: Evaluating ceramic tile for use in green building projects.
Every year, a jury of architectural professionals including large commercial architects to residential and interior specialists, select the awards. The awards are judged on a scale from 1 to 10 in both content and design. The winners are then announced at an invite-only panel discussion during the annual AIA National Convention. This year's event was held Friday, May 15, at the AIA National Conference in Atlanta, GA.
Since the course was initially published in Architectural Record in October 2012, over 4,100 architects have taken the course -- 950 of which have taken it since December 2014.
An Ecological Basis for Selecting Ceramic Tileis designed to educate architects and designers on the environmental benefits of ceramic tile. The course is based on the technical performance of the tile, and overviews the use of ceramics in green buildings as well as recent innovations in the ceramic tile industry. By taking this course, architects and designers can earn AIA credits.
