In this edition, we cover all things Gauged Porcelain Tile Panels/Slabs (GPTP). If you’re a tile professional, I’m sure you’re quite familiar with these larger-than-life materials, which have gained a lot of traction over the last five years. With some GPTP standing as tall as 15 feet nowadays, they are being utilized for everything from countertops to office furniture, and are giving natural stone and other traditional building materials a run for their money. Literally.

To learn more about what is trending in the GPTP world, we spoke with a major U.S. tile manufacturer, as well as international tile manufacturers from Italy and Spain, who shed some light on the material’s most popular designs, sizes and uses. You can learn more, from a technical perspective, about GPTP and how to properly prepare a surface before an installation in our technical focuses.

We also put together a collection of the newest underlayments and membranes that are available from both domestic and international manufacturers, so be sure to check that out, too.

Until next time, my friends.
